Ginseng RootGINSENG & GERMANIUM

The single most important medicinal element in ginseng is Germanium-132. Korean ginseng has one of the highest concentrations of this trace element.

Research and clinical trials for Germanium-132 :

Germanium is trace element number 32 in the periodic table. It is twice as heavy as oxygen (16) and seems in some way related to it, as it supports cellular and tissue oxygenation. Research in Japan also verified a number of effects of Ge-132 on the immune systems of animals and humans. Elemental (inorganic) germanium, or germanium dioxide can accumulate in the body and cause adverse effects such as renal failure and even death. When elemental (inorganic) germanium is drawn from the soil by plant life, such as ginseng, it is transformed by the plant into organic germanium, a complex molecule containing a core of pure elemental germanium atomically bound to a large number of oxygen atoms. To distinguish organic germanium from the trace mineral, it is somtimes referred to as Organic Germanium and expresssed as Ge-Oxy 132.

Germanium has been shown to have both antitumor and antiviral effects. These may be a result of its varying immunological actions, such as stimulating interferon production, stimulating macrophage ("Pac-man" white cells) and NK (natural killer) lymphocyte activity, and enhancing cell-mediated immunity. There is some suggestion that Ge-132 helps in pain relief; particularly dramatic relief has occurred in some cases of severe cancer pain.

Plants that contain Organic Germanium:

Plants with the reputation of having a beneficial effect in the treatment of malignant tumors showed the following germanium content (rounded):

1) Korean Ginseng up to 4000ppm
  2) Shelf fungus (trametes cinnabarina): 800-2000ppm
  3) Garlic (Allium sativum): 750ppm
  4) Ginseng (Panax schinseng): Japanese 250-350ppm
  5) Bandai moss (Bandai-san volcano on the northern part of Honshu): 260ppm
  6) Sushi (angelica pubescens): 260ppm
  7) Japanese Waternut (Trapa japonica): 240ppm
  8) Comfrey (Symphytum officinale): 150ppm
  9) Boxthorn seed (Lycium chinense): 125ppm
10) Wisteria knob or gall (Wisteria floribunda): 110ppm
11) Gromwell root (Lithospermum officinale): 90ppm
12) Aloe (Aloe vera): 80ppm

Mechanisms of Effectiveness
The three mechanisms proposed for the effectiveness of GE-132 (carboxyethyl germanium sesquioxide) are:

1) Stimulation of the immune system

a) Increased interferon production
b) Increased natural killer T-cell activity
c) Increased macrophage activity
d) Increased lymphocyte activity

2) Highly increased transport of oxygen into cells, above all into the otherwise anaerobic cancer cells.

a) Ge-132 carries 3 available oxygen atoms if taken up into the cancer cells
b) High affinity to and stimulation by Germanium of the zytochrome-P-450 oxydase system

3) Cell revitalization and gene repair

a) Germanium stabilizes labile genes and assists in gene repair
b) Germanium activates a cytoplasmic receptor which, in turn, stimulates the formation of the cell vitalizing proteukariotic protein PKP2q. This may account for the rejuvenating effect of germanium.
c) The germanium content of cells decreases with increasing age and there is a
drastic drop of intracellular germanium which apparently can be reversed by Ge-132.

Germanium in the Treatment of Cancer

Japanese researcher, Dr. Kazuhiki Asai, discovered the biological significance of germanium and first synthesized organic germanium. After synthesizing many germanium compounds and testing them for bioactivity, he successfully produced a water soluble, highly stable, non-toxic form of organic germanium.

The unique structure of this organic germanium seems to account for its remarkable chemical and biological properties. Its small size, and perhaps other features, permit rapid diffusion and transport across membranes. Thus, it is widely and nearly uniformly distributed in tissues.(3)

How Germanium 132 works to create its profound oxygenation effect is not known. Researchers theorize that it facilitates oxygen entry into red blood cells and then turns into the tissues by acting as a sort of shuttle. Or, it may make the function more efficient as an electronic receptor by orienting oxygen on the electron-transport chain in the mitochondria.

Dr. Asai suggests that the three oxygen atoms of germanium in the sesquioxide form strongly bond with hydrogen ions to produce a dehydrogenating reaction "which is the mechanism by which germanium eliminates harmful substances that cause disease in the body." In his book, The Miracle Cure: Organic Germanium, he says, "To insure that the body functions normally, hydrogen must be removed, but for complete removal, a large quantity of oxygen is needed. The germanium compound with its strong dehydrogenating effect takes the place of oxygen in combining with hydrogen to eliminate the latter from the body.

A Visual Demonstration

In GlowLife Health Seminars, we do a live visual demonstration that shows the high oxygenation capability of the germanium in Korean Ginseng. We use a Darkfield microscope (1000X), a video camera and a hospital monitor. We do a finger prick on a couple of audience volunteers, take a drop of their live blood, magnify it (1000X) and record it on a video tape. This sample invariably shows a rouleau condition.

The blood has the appearance of a stack of coins. Rouleau is due to poor nutrient utlization and dehydration. The oxygen and carbon dioxide carrying ability of the red blood cell is greatly diminished due to a lack of available surface area of the cells. When our cells are not properly oxygenated we have diminished the transport system that delivers the health giving nutrients to our cells for the purpose of maintaining our health.

                     Rouleau

We then mix two scoops (3/4 tsp) of 100% pure GlowLife Korean Ginseng in a glass of water (6-8 ozs.) and have the volunteers drink it. In about 50 minutes time we do another finger prick of the same volunteers and take another drop of live blood, magnify it (1000X) and record it on the same video tape. We now see a dramatic difference in the cells.

Normal blood is characterized by cells that are approximately the same size and do not stick to each other or clump. The capability of the entire organizm has now been enhanced by our nutrient delivery being re-activated. The cells are now carrying oxygen to our organs. The presence of oxygen is responsible for the prevention of diseases and restoration of health. Korean INSAM is an unequalled tool in the restoration and protection of health.
